A new future for Seasearch
For over 35 years, Seasearch has been a leading provider of vital marine biodiversity data. It has contributed over 835,000 data records to national and global marine biodiversity databases, and the data has helped achieve the designation of Marine Protected Areas. As co-founders of Seasearch, the Marine Conservation Society is immensely proud of this legacy.
To ensure a sustainable future for Seasearch, we have been talking with a number of representatives of the Seasearch community, including the Seasearch Steering Group and Wildlife Trusts, about the Marine Conservation Society’s role in Seasearch, and alternative models for community-led governance.
We are committed to working together to support Seasearch through any transition period to achieve a positive handover of Seasearch administration and governance.
