Conference 2026
Dive into Conservation!
Seasearch Conference May 2026
The Seasearch conference is coming up next weekend (16th to 17th May 2026) at The Esplanade Hall in Harwich, Essex.
All Seasearchers and keen marine people welcome – we will be doing some coordinator specific sessions, but there’s something for everyone, see the programme of events below.
The conference is free to take part in and there will be free hot drinks and (slightly disappointing) biscuits, but you’ll need to sort out your own travel, accommodation and meals.
There’s no need to doggedly take part in everything, it’s fine to drop in and out for the bits that interest you.
What Else to Expect?
- We’ll be doing at least 2 intertidal surveys per day, with the chance to take samples back to the hall for microscopic examination and seaweed pressing.
- The emphasis of the weekend is alien invasive species, but we will identify and record everything that we can!
- Guest speakers include Elizabeth Beston doing live plankton microscopy, Simon Taylor on local mollusc species, Lin Baldock on crustacean ID and Vladimir Laptikhovsky from CEFAS on cephalopods and citizen science.
If you would like any further information on the conference please check out the Facebook page or you can email info@seasearch.org.uk
